What will you need as a Process Design Draughtsperson?

• Experience in the field of mechanical & piping draughting, with a minimum of 5 years of working experience
• Matric as a minimum, with excellent results in mathematics and English
• NQF level 4 xe2x80x93 multi-disciplinary drawing office practice or alternative N4 Engineering certificate (including drawings as subject)
• A certificate in mechanical draughting from a recognized Autodesk training center
• Demonstrate competency with generating and/or reading technical drawings
• Personal maturity and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to cooperate and collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams
• A valid driver's license and one's own vehicle
• A valid SA Identity document and an SA or Foreign passport.

Key competencies and generic skills:

• Proven track record for relevant design and drafting
• In-depth knowledge of processes and procedures
• In-depth understanding of computer-aided drafting systems (AutoCAD, Inventor)
• Ability to communicate and report effectively
• Long-term commitment to grow with the company.

What will you be responsible of as a Process Design Draughtsperson?

The Process Design Draughtsperson role will include but is not limited to:

• Drawing up P&ID's (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFD's (Process Flow Diagrams), from Engineerxe2x80x99s brief
• Must be able to generate accurate & readable hand sketches;
• Equipment block layouts for space planning
• Detailing vessel & equipment drawings & checking fabricatorsxe2x80x99 drawings against our own for correctness
• Creating workable 3D equipment & piping models and generating 2D G.A's for Engineers review.
• Assist in developing the current drawing office standards and 3D libraries & specs.
• Be able to create a bill of material from a set of drawings
• Drawing up of sketches & standards
• Travel to site to trace process piping
• Support the BP Process Engineering business strategy
• Actively develop the competency to play a key role in project delivery
• Be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally
