Responsibilities:
Assessment: To assess the patient''s medical condition, monitor vital signs, and evaluate any changes in health.
Medication Management: Administers medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) therapies as prescribed by a physician.
Wound Care: Provide wound care, including dressing changes and monitoring for infection.
Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): To assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other daily tasks when necessary.
Monitoring: To monitor patients for any signs of complications or deterioration in their condition.
Patient Education:
To educate patients and their families on managing chronic conditions, post-operative care, and other healthcare needs.
Advocacy:
To advocate for their patients'' needs, ensuring they receive appropriate medical care and support.
Documentation:
To maintain detailed records of the patient''s condition, care provided, and any changes in the treatment plan.
Communication:
To communicate with the patient''s primary care physician and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
Qualifications:
Nursing License: Must be licensed as RNs or LPNs in their state or country of practice.
Experience: Require prior experience, especially for complex medical cases.
Certifications: Require additional certifications, such as CPR certification or specialized training in areas like wound care or infusion therapy. Must be able to do IV drips
Communication Skills: Effective communication with patients and their families is crucial for private nurses.
Compassion and Empathy: To work with patients who have serious illnesses or are recovering from surgeries, you must be compassionate and empathetic.
Problem-Solving Skills:
They need to be able to assess situations quickly and make decisions to ensure the patient''s well-being.
Flexibility: May work irregular hours and adapt to changing patient needs.
Physical Stamina: The job may require lifting and assisting with mobility, so physical fitness is important.
