& Summary A career in our Oracle Risk Assurance practice, within Information Technology Risk Assurance will allow you to develop and apply strategies that help clients leverage enterprise technologies so they can get a higher return on their investment, mitigate risks, streamline processes, and find operational inefficiencies. The work revolves around creative problem solving and applying innovative technologies to enable strategies that increase the value of the applications that run our clientxe2x80x99s business, mitigate risk and find operational inefficiencies.

Our focus is on creating effective and efficient design for the most important business, security and compliance processes for our clients. We touch on aspects of application security, areas prone to fraud and financial misstatement, and streamline processes that are part of our clientxe2x80x99s core business so they can get a higher return on this key investment. Using innovative, and proprietary technologies, we help to bridge the gap between business stakeholders, compliance functions and Information Technology teams to assist in understanding how to embrace new ways of working, while limiting their financial and operational risk profile. We use knowledge of financial system design, risk mitigation, business process design, data integrity, security and use of data analytics.

Job Summary:

PricewaterhouseCoopers is seeking a highly motivated , knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our Privacy advisory team in the role of a Privacy consultant.

This is a dual role split between leading and driving business development efforts, and the rendering of diverse privacy related services to clients, with focus on the Protection of Personal Information Act (and others).

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

Lead and coordinate business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, engaging with existing and potential new clients, preparing and coordinating responses to proposals

Assist with marketing material

Build and maintain strong client relationships including by understanding their unique privacy needs within the South African context and identifying opportunities.

Monitoring pursuits from identification to engagement conversion

Liaising and coordinating sales activities with our Joint Business Partners such as OneTrust, OpenText, and BigID.

Client Services

Project Management: Manage multiple client projects, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables meet .

Privacy Impact Assessments, Gap Assessment and audits: conducts personal information impact assessments and privacy audits, prepare client reports and provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks

Privacy training: Present privacy training to clients

Data Protection Strategies: Assist clients in developing and implementing robust data protection strategies, policies, and procedures in accordance with POPIA and other relevant privacy laws and regulations.

Prepare for, coordinate, manage and lead client workshops

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate privacy and data protection risks and provide proactive recommendations to clients.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organisation to deliver integrated solutions to clients.These will include our Data governance, Cyber and Legal teams.

Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with developments in South African privacy laws and regulatory activity as well as relevant international developments and best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Information Security, Information Technology, Business, or related disciplines).

A privacy related certification from the IAPP, ISACA or elsewhere is preferred.

Strong understanding of South African privacy laws and regulations, particularly POPIA.

Knowledge of other relevant privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR and legislation in other African countries will be advantageous.

At least 3 years previous experience in privacy consulting, data protection, or related fields is preferred.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex privacy issues.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients and internal teams.

Proven experience in coordinating and driving business development initiatives within a consulting context.

Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about evolving privacy regulations in South Africa and globally.

Experience in liaising and coordinating sales activities with Joint Business Partners, such as OneTrust, Opentext, and BigID, is a strong advantage.
