A large consulting company with offices around the world is looking for a Principal Social Scientist.

Minimum requirements:

Being a registered professional with SACNASP would be advantageous.

Have atleast 15 years experience in the consulting field.

A minimum of a Masters level qualification in social sciences.

Experience in economic assessments would be advantageous.

Be proficient in English (additional language skill will be an added advantage).

Possess a valid drivers license and passport as well as own transport.

Be able to travel internationally on projects.

Have strong planning and problem-solving skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for and involved in the planning, management and execution of projects related to the field of social performance management inclusive of socio-economic impact assessments, development and implementation of social management and monitoring plans, resettlement action plans, stakeholder engagement plans, and socio-economic development plans.

Involvement will be on a national and international level encompassing, inter alia, proposal writing, fieldwork planning and execution, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, technical reporting, client liaison, internal and external resourcing (e.g., contractors), logistics planning, budgeting, and quality assurance.
