A relevant B Tech or first Degree in Engineering, Science or
other relevant field
At least 8 years' relevant experience in transport data,
transport modelling, management and transport planning
experience at strategic and local levels
Professional registration with ECSA will be highly advantageous
Computer programming, analytical and statistical ability
Good presentation and communication skills
GIS experience
Staff management experience
A valid driver's license
Key Performance Areas
Develop, update, maintain and analyse transport-related
information for transport planning, including the enhancement
of systems, databases and methodologies for data collection.
Design data collection methodologies, develop performance
standards and indicators, use and develop analysis tools,
produce statistical reports and findings of analysis.
Manage, organise, develop and lead the staff in the section.
Inform integrated transport planning using current and projected
movements.
Communicate information, including modelling, data visualisation
and GIS information to assist decision makers.
Support transport models, including meso- and micro-models,
in their development, calibration and validation
