Principal Engineer



Requirements



A BSc Eng or B Eng in a relevant Engineering field. Registered as Professional Engineer (PrEng) with ECSA. A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in infrastructure,

bulk services or building project.



Proven experience and in-depth knowledge in the design,

analysis, and review of multidisciplinary infrastructure and



building projects, including coordination, value engineering,



technical report writing, construction supervision and quality



assurance.



A valid Code B driver's licence. Specialisation in mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, fire

protection, mechanical infrastructure) would be an advantage.



Key Performance Areas



Provide independent, specialised engineering advisory

services across all departments of the city and throughout



the project lifecycle.



Perform, review and analyse designs, specifications, and

technical submissions for capital infrastructure projects.



Provide contractual advice to City departments on the

appropriate use and application of engineering contracts,



including JBCC, NEC, GCC and FIDIC.



Offer strategic input on contract selection, engineering risk

management, and quality assurance.



Contribute to improved decision-making and value for

money through critical technical insight.



Drive process improvements and mentor junior engineering staff.
