Job Description
Our Client is a well-established, management-owned engineering firm with almost 90 years of experience. As human-centred engineering consultants and advisors, they are trusted by their clients, business partners, communities, and other stakeholders across Africa.
Role responsibilities:
- Electrical distribution design for mining, water treatment and petrochemical plants
- Earthing and lightning protection studies and design
- Motor starting and protection design.
- Preparation of the technical content of enquiry documentation typically including a scope description, technical specification, drawings, datasheets and Bills of Quantity (BOQ)
- Performs complex engineering, design, calculations, analysis when required
- Audits, inspections, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing
- On site commissioning activities as required
- 10 - 15 years suitable experience on industrial electrical applications, with electrical/mechatronic tertiary qualification
- Professional registration with ECSA
- Experience in design and construction supervision of
- o LV Switchgear and LV plant reticulation
- o MV switchgear, protection and MV plant reticulation
- o LV and MV motor starting
- Experience with ETAP and/or DigSilent is preferable
- A team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines
- A team player excelling in the commitment of resolution of complex issues
