Job Description


Core Functions:

  • Manage geochemistry, contamination and remediation projects;
  • Compile proposals and reports;
  • Coordinate project schedules;
  • Undertake site assessments/field work, when required;
  • Manage budgets;
  • Appoint and manage sub-contractors;
  • Develop and sustain new business and client relationships both within SRK and externally; and
  • Develop and grow a team and mentor junior colleagues.
Competencies and Characteristics:
  • Excellent geochemistry/geology/chemistry/industrial waste & mine residue characterisation and management/pollution source identification and control knowledge;
  • Project management and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment;
  • Self-starter and committed team player;
  • Decision-maker and capable of taking calculated risks;
  • Excellent reporting, communication and presentation skills; and
  • Analytical and integrative skills across diverse sectors.
Qualifications:
  • Honours Degree or higher in Geochemistry or Geology or Hydrogeology or Chemistry or other relevant degree;
  • Sci.Nat. or equivalent Registration;
  • 12 to 15 years relevant experience;
  • Valid drivers licence and own transport; and
  • Willingness to travel within and outside South Africa.
