Job Description

Educare House is a warm and fun-loving preschool & aftercare situated around the corner from Kirstenhof Primary School (KPS) in Kirstenhof. We provide preschool for children aged 4 months - 6 years and Aftercare for children from KPS for Grades R-3. We are looking for a Preschool & Aftercare driver to join our team. The Preschool & Aftercare Driver provides safe, reliable transport for children during the aftercare period, while supporting the Forest Edge preschool group with operational driving during the morning. This role is essential to the smooth running of daily operations and ensuring a warm, calm, and safe experience for children.

Key elements of the role:

Morning operations support (08h00-12h00)

Transporting staff between Educare House and other schools within the Forest Edge group (e.g. maintenance support). Driving between schools to deliver or collect supplies, documents, uniforms, groceries, signage, equipment etc. General operations driving for school managers e.g. grocery shopping, Collecting and dropping off items for repair or servicing etc. Ensuring the vehicle is always clean, fuelled, safe, and roadworthy.
Aftercare Transport (12h00-16h00)

Collecting aftercare children daily from KPS. Completing safe and punctual transport loops between KPS and Educare House for extra-murals. Managing attendance registers and ensuring that all children are accounted for and arrive safely at their destination. Ensuring children remain seated with seatbelts fastened at all times. Creating a warm, kind, and calm atmosphere for children during transport. Reporting any delays, incidents, or concerns immediately to the school manager. Liaising with the KPS secretary, Educare House school manager, and aftercare parents for any emergencies, unexpected issues, or urgent communication needs

Position details:

Start date: 5th January, 2026 Hours: 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday
Qualifications and experience required:

Valid South African driver's licence (Code B or higher). Valid PDP for transporting passengers, or willingness to obtain one immediately with school support. Clean criminal record and willingness to undergo background checks. Preferred but not required: previous experience driving children Salary: dependent on experience, to be shared at the beginning of interview process
