JOB SCOPE
The Precinct Manager is the on-site, in-community leader responsible for driving the success, sustainability, and socioeconomic impact of a Development Precinct with the Safe-Hub at its core. The role ensures that the precinct serves as a thriving hub for collective impact by aligning partners, programmes, and resources to a shared vision. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the implementation of annual plans, budgets, and compliance frameworks while ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and accountability. Central to the role is building strong partnerships with community stakeholders, local government, schools, and funders/investors, while fostering trust and engagement with participants and residents.
Areas of responsibility include:
Contribute to the co-designing and drive the implementation of the contextualised Collective Impact strategy.
Establish and maintain governance structures for the Precinct.
Ensure daily monitoring of programme activities in line with AMANDLA's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning tools and frameworks.
Manage precinct-wide communications strategy and ensure alignment of messaging.
Ensure precinct objectives align with the organisational strategy.
Ensure delivery of all precinct programmes meet best practice standards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and operational standards
Analyse results and facilitate learning and continuous improvement across precinct programmes.
Compile and submit regular reports in precinct performance, incidents, stakeholder engagement, and progress towards objectives.
Lead and manage precinct staff, ensuring wellbeing, motivation, and performance.
Build and manage strong relationships with participants, community, community leaders, and partners.
Serve as the main point of contact for precinct-level relationships, including local partners, community organisations, schools, SAPS, local government, and funders
Strengthening the presence and reputation of the precinct through local networking and advocacy.
Drive and or support the development and implementation of precinct-wide staff training and development plans.
Ensure precinct facilities meet health, safety, and security standards.
Educational:
National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Management, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
Project Management qualification (e.g. PMP) advantageous.
Experience and Skills:
3-5 years' management experience in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Proven track record in project/programme management and partnership coordination.
Experience in youth development, education, sports, community development, or related fields.
HR and people management experience.
Strong facilitation, communication, and IT skills.
Knowledge of systems thinking and complexity management
Proven ability to execute complex projects successfully
Proven ability to coordinate inter-disciplinary teams
Ability to resolve problems in a timely and consistent manner
Strong communication skills
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office & MS Projects)
Ability to communicate in English and (at least one) other South African language
