Job Summary
Our client in the Pharmaceutical Industry based in Parktown, Johannesburg, is currently looking to employ a PowerBI Developer.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300).
- Strong skills in DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
- Experience performing Excel-based reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to translate business problems into data solutions.
1. Dashboard and Report Development:
- Build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports based on user needs and business KPIs.
- Ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience across reporting outputs.
- Use Power Query and DAX to clean, transform, and model data.
- Optimize report performance through efficient data structures.
- Perform ad hoc data analysis using Excel when required.
- Integrate and cross-check Excel outputs with Power BI to ensure data consistency and flexibility.
- Connect to multiple data sources including SQL databases, Excel, Smartsheet, and APIs.
- Automate refresh schedules and support data pipeline efficiency.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
- Train and support stakeholders on Power BI usage and report interpretation.
- Ensure data accuracy, maintain documentation, and follow best practices in governance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues efficiently.
- Contribute to the maturation of data infrastructure and self-service analytics culture.
