Job Description

Purpose
The purpose of the planner is to take responsibility for the following four elements:
1st Survey and plan sites up to Openserve standards.
2nd Accurately calculate the Bill of material to execute the planning.
3rd Accurately determine the Bill of services according to the NOKIA and Openserve contract.
4th Align planning with Build during project and update all systems up to integration.

Qualifications | Knowledge
  • Qualification: A related degree, diploma(s) in Telecommunications or relevant experience Knowledge: On GIS (Geographic Information System) applications, preferably OpenServe Netplan, Contractual Knowledge Nokia Openserve: FTTH planning, SAP R3, Netplan, Tracking tools, Unibase and BPM, Webtool, MS Visio/CAD,
  • Surveying: HOA handling thereof and processes with regards to private Wayleave drawing, compiling and the application thereof,
Experience
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years' experience in fibre OSP planning, with 2 years advanced knowledge in fibre network built and planning (FTTH, FTTB and FOD), fibre types, fibre specifications which includes the knowledge of the equipment and material used to build a fibre network, splicing.
  • Skills: Computer literate, strong excel and word skills, good communication skills, presentable, able to handle conflict situations, performance and target driven individual, positive mind set and must be able to work under pressure.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Part A - Project Contractual Requirements Survey
  • A Fibre to the Home (FTTH) Planner is responsible for conducting site surveys to gather information about the conditions of residential and commercial properties prior to the installation of fibre optic networks. An overview of the role would typically include:
  • Site Surveys: The FTTH Planner is responsible for conducting site surveys to gather information about the conditions of the properties, including access points, obstacles, and any other potential challenges that may impact the installation of fibre optic networks.
  • Data Collection: The FTTH Planner must collect and document accurate and comprehensive information about each site, including site photos, plans, and drawings.
  • Reporting: The FTTH Planner must create and maintain detailed and accurate site survey reports, including recommendations for fibre optic installation routes, splicing and termination points.
  • Safety: The FTTH Planner must ensure that all site surveys are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations and that all necessary precautions are taken.
  • Customer Service: The FTTH Planner must maintain good relations with customers and ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Part B: Project Contractual Requirements Planning
  • A Fibre to the Home (FTTH) Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate network plans for fibre optic installations in residential and commercial properties. An overview of the role would typically include:
  • Network Design: The FTTH Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining network designs, HLD, BOM, BOS, SAP, LLD, TXOPS, As Build, VO's.
  • Cost Estimation: The FTTH Planner must create and maintain accurate cost estimates for each project, including BOM and BOS.
  • Project Scheduling: The FTTH Planner must create and maintain project schedules to ensure that all work is completed on time.
  • Risk Management: The FTTH Planner must identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize those risks.
  • Documentation: The FTTH Planner must create and maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and progress reports.
  • Targets:
  • Manage the planning requirements that will deliver a minimum of 500 Home Passes every
  • Deliver all works order tasks 96% of the time within scope, budget and the agreed
  • Deliver all tasks and responsibilities 96% of the time with zero defects or
