To monitor and ensure compliance of the subcontractor with T&C Work Package commitments and EHS requirements for the given project

PERFORMANCE MEASURE
  • No fatality nor severe accident related to project's activities during test and commissioning processes
  • To monitor and guarantee T&C Work Package completion within the required specified test boundaries as per the test and commissioning SOPs
  • Ensure PI team members resolve T&C affecting failures safely and timeously, using the correct tools, to minimize downtime
  • Ensure that a maximum of 2 faults are detected during dynamic commissioning phase (ideally zero)
  • Always ensure good working relationship between PI teams members and TE testing staff
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Responsibilities
  • Managing/supervising PI team members as well as supervision of TE testing staff during fault finding when required.
  • To lead fault finding activities when PI and TE testing staff are unable to resolve issues in testing.
  • To raise T&C related faults with the appropriate engineering
  • To train new technicians and engineers on the T&C process.
  • Responsible for :
- Validation of the locomotive testing process by reviewing completed SOPs against specifications, - Supervision of TE test staff and Alstom test staff during Serial testing

- To encourage and roll out projects to improve locomotive systems and component reliability and quality to all stakeholders

- To ensure Maximo work orders are raised for material changeouts

- To manage PI containment stock used during T&C activities - To ensure QG6 is carried out by TE and/or Alstom testing staff to certify that locomotives are accepted in testing at the highest quality
  • To pronounce T&C xe2x80x9cGo/No Goxe2x80x9d decision, within the specified SOP framework with Alstom and TE stakeholders: -at milestone xe2x80x9cHand-Over from manufacturing to testingxe2x80x9d -at milestone vehicle ex-works release preparation phase
  • To create and update T&C documentation (tests programs, tests description, acceptance criteria, jigs and special tools, records, associated workload and workstation organisation (TAKT) based on contractual and design technical requirements.
  • To comply with project's T&C commitments, acting as Work Package Owner, in compliance with the locomotive production process.
  • Efficient and transparent interface with the Warranty Implementation teams working in customer's depots.
  • Ensures EHS is fully considered in project T&C scope.
  • Reports Deviations, Near-misses and Accidents.
  • To capture and report non conformities and ensuring they are properly managed and closed, liaising with engineering, validation, RAMS, manufacturing and site Quality.
People Management:
  • Manage a team of people in terms of the full scope of Human Resource applications (i.e. Jobs & Skills, Training & Qualification, Workforce, Staffing & organization)
  • Manage the end to end People Management and People Review cycle for the area of responsibility
  • Manage all employee relations and labour relations matter in relations to the area of responsibility
  • Ensure that the team complies to all policies and procedure
  • Deploy and comply with all applicable policies and procedures in terms of people management
  • Responsible for employee relations at site level
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Minimum B.Eng/B.Sc (Electrical/Mechanical) Engineering
Desirable:
  • M.Eng/M.Sc (Electrical/Mechanical) Engineering
Experience

Mandatory:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the related field and industry
  • Rolling stock maintenance or Rolling stock test and commissioning experience is a must
  • Electrical and electronic systems advance knowledge
  • Pneumatic and mechanical systems advance knowledge
  • Rolling stock application software experience
  • Maximo competency / GSI Knowledge
  • Railway HSE rules working knowledge
Desirable:
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Power BI
  • Python programming (web automation)
  • Microprocessor product development
Competencies & Skills
  • Ability to have a good communication with other colleagues and other functions (engineering, manufacturing, industrial, quality, xe2x80xa6)
  • Ability for problem-solving and efficient decision-making in environment
  • Ability to work across sites/functions in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to use MS Office suite
  • Understanding of computer System Diagnostic skills
  • Reading of drawings and schematics
  • Sound Mechanical and Electrical Fault-finding skills
  • Solid Electrical / Mechanical background and understanding of engineering principles
  • Accurate and analytical fault reporting and report writing
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Quality principles
  • Knowledge of maintenance engineering principles
  • Maximo knowledge will be an advantage
  • Willing to travel between sites if required
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to work shifts and standby as and when required (possible weekend work)
  • Ability to see in color
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Good team player and be able to work in a team
  • Must be capable of working independently
