Our world-class care aims to bridge the gap between hospital and home. Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of leading healthcare professionals administers care in the most therapeutic environment possible and supports healing outcomes in all aspects.

Tokai Physiotherapy Inc is looking for a Physiotherapist to join their team. The successful incumbent will assist in the sub-acute facility in conjunction with the current Physiotherapists based there.

Responsibilities:

• Provide efficient and effective Physiotherapy services at Tokai Estate to a variety of patients, post surgery or acute hospitalisation (eg. stroke, total hip replacement, spinal surgery, dementia).
• To develop specialised skills in all aspects of rehabilitation and contribute to developing and maintaining an effective and evidence based service.
• The treatment goal is to improve the medical and overall patient outcome during the physical rehabilitation period and to facilitate a safe and medically stable discharge, with the appropriate level of care.
• Involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team (doctors, occupational therapist, speech therapist, social worker, dietician)
• To formulate accurate prognosis, expected outcome and recommend the best course of intervention.
• Carry out individualised treatments and develop comprehensive discharge plans
• Communicating these to patients and their carers.

Qualifications:

• HPCSA registration
• Physiotherapy degree

Requirements:

• 5 years of clinical experience
• Experience working in a neurology environment
• Experience working in an acute setting
• Willing to work within a multidisciplinary and nursing team environment
• Team player, trustworthy, passionate

Essential experience

• Evidence of CPD in the field of Neurology
• Evidence of general CPD
• MDT experience
• Evidence of team working
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills
• Advanced communication skills (patients and staff)
• Own transport
• Solid and positive references
• Clear criminal record

Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 and required to work one weekend per month with one weekend work a month, with a day off in the week following the weekend work.

Tokai Physiotherapy Inc offers a market-related salary from R 28,000 - R 30,000 Cost to the Company.
