We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Petrol Service Station Manager

to oversee the day-to-day operations of our service station. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong management skills, operational know-how, and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff to maintain a high-performance culture. Prepare and manage staff rosters, delegate duties, and oversee shift management. Ensure staff adhere to Shell & Spar uniform standards and wear name tags at all times. Be highly visible on the forecourt, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and excellent customer service. Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively. Generate and place fuel orders, manage wet stock, and process Shell End of Day (EOD) reports. Receive fuel deliveries, oversee pricing and stock control for both fuel and convenience store items. Manage cash flow at tills, oversee cashing procedures, and ensure daily sales reports are accurately generated. Maintain statistical and financial records, ensuring all reporting is completed on time. Prepare promotional materials and oversee in-store displays to maximize sales. Set and monitor sales targets, motivating staff to achieve performance goals. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all operations. Liaise with head office on operational, financial, and compliance matters.

Requirements

Previous experience in retail or service station management (fuel industry experience advantageous). Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Financial acumen and attention to detail in reporting and cash management. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations. Must reside in Durban and/or Surrounding suburbs
