People Operations Support
Champion the organisation and upkeep of all administrative functions - from managing documentation, employee folders and maintaining workbooks to ensure all People systems are up to date and running smoothly.
Play a key part in creating a seamless and positive employee experience by being a hands-on, supportive member of the People Team.
Relieve the front desk and ensure a professional and welcoming experience for all.
Payroll Processing
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly payroll inputs and summary.
Track and process variable pay elements (e.g., overtime, bonuses, commissions, unpaid leave).
Maintain up-to-date employee records (e.g., salary changes, new hires, terminations, benefits).
Monitor leave balances and ensure accurate leave deductions in payroll.
Assist employees with queries and ensure resolutions are communicated clearly and promptly.
Ensure all payroll actions comply with internal policies and legislative requirements (e.g., PAYE, UIF, SDL).
Employee Relations & Talent Management
Work closely with the People Ops Lead to support line leads and employees in managing and resolving disciplinary, grievance, performance, and incapacity processes.
Schedule employee probation periods and monitor progress.
Support the implementation of Yoyo's performance management process by assisting with documentation, onboarding new employees to the framework, responding to queries, coordinating bi-annual reviews, and helping ensure accurate scoring and record-keeping.
Ensure a smooth and compliant employee offboarding process by managing all required documentation, coordinating exit interviews, and implementing payroll changes.
Recruitment & Employee Onboarding
Assist with pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews, coordinating communication, and background and reference checks.
Maintain the candidate database and ensure a smooth transition of successful candidate information into the appropriate People records.
Support onboarding logistics, including preparing offer letters, collecting documentation, and coordinating start dates and first-day arrangements.
Track and compile recruitment data and metrics, such as time-to-fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, and candidate feedback, to support reporting and continuous improvement.
Learning & Development
Provide admin and research support to the learning & development space, including record keeping, training coordination, internal communications, tracking metrics, and liaising with external suppliers for quotes and services.
Develop a database of relevant courses and resources to help our employees grow their skills and careers.
Employee Wellness & Yoyo Culture
Be a culture champion and assist the People Culture Lead in initiatives that promote employee well-being and a positive workplace environment.
Assist in administration and engagement in wellness initiatives.
Qualifications
A reputable tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
3 Years work experience in a People / HR Administrator role.
Solid experience using payroll software - PaySpace, Sage, SimplePay or a similar system.
Familiarity of South African labour legislation and SABPP standards.
Tech savvy and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Experience in dealing with confidentiality and understanding the importance of discretion when handling sensitive information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
Organisational skills to manage multiple HR processes and administrative tasks at the same time.
