Payroll Process and Controls Specialist (Senior) IT ~ GENERAL
Menlyn - Gauteng - South Africa, Midrand - Gauteng - South Africa, Rosslyn - Gauteng - South Africa

Our client who is one of the reigning superpowers within the automotive space has a great opportunity available for a Payroll Process and Controls Specialist. If you would like to report to the office occasionally with the comforts of working from home as well then read on.

Work model: Hybrid: Midrand, Menlyn, Rosslyn and Home office

Essential skills required: (to name a few)

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • At least 5 years SAP experience
  • At least 5 years ZA Payroll/Benefits/Time experience
  • High drive cluster, ability to work independently and steer projects to agreed timelines and quality outcomes.
Some of the duties you would need to carry out if successful for the role:

Processes
  • Acts as the process expert to understand scope of new change and the impact they will have on current processes.
  • Advises on feasibility, potential issues and impacts of process changes.
  • Documents Project plan and updates when project owner. Prepares status update and shares with applicable stakeholders.
  • Supports other team members involved in projects.
  • To ensure that PE-66 are represented in all projects and that any new processes are fully assessed for feasibility and implemented in the appropriate way.
Payroll Run
  • Process Payroll activities with a high degree of specialism.
  • Act as the expert on Payroll topics being seen as a specialist contact for all HR systems and payroll issues. Perform problem analysis and resolution where required.
  • Ensure that all payroll activities are carried out as per business requirements meeting all deadlines.
Query Management
  • Ensure all queries sent to nominated mailboxes are resolved within the given SLA.
Audits
  • Prepare all necessary documentation required by auditors.
  • Liaise with auditors both internal and external to arrange onsite visits.
  • Follow up on queries and resulting audit points to bring them to a satisfactory close.
  • To ensure adherence to process and accuracy of data in accordance with BMW Group and legislative guidelines.
Controls
  • Creates a suite of Payroll controls which cover accuracy, compliance, and company policy.
  • Documents control processes to be followed.
  • Trains HR Services team on appropriate controls.
  • Reviews controls on a regular basis to ensure they are fit for purpose. Add new controls as needed.
Change Management
  • Delivers a new project or process and rolls it out to the team to make it a business-as-usual process.
  • Analyses issues to find the correct resolution and ensures it is consistently applied across the business.
  • Implements process consistency and improvements.
  • Drives consistency and standardization within ZA processes to simplify delivery.
IT Applications
  • Ensures efficient and effective use of the HR IT Systems.
  • Looks to develop and enhance both existing and new IT solutions.
  • Maximise ability to automate processes where appropriate and manage employee requests in line with process and services delivery.
