Industry: Automotive/ Car rentalContract: 12 Month Fixed Term ContractSalary: R60 000 pm CTC (not negotiable)- No benefitsLocation: Isando, JohannesburgIntroduction:The overall purpose of a payroll manager is to oversee and manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees within the organization. This includes ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, complying with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. The role also includes responsibility for payroll tax compliance, benefits administration, and supporting employee payroll inquiries.Minimum Requirements:Grade 12Diploma in finance or payroll-related fieldValid drivers licenseDesired Experience & Qualifications:A minimum of 3 years of experience with a payroll systemExperience using:Sage Premier (Payroll), Sage FinanceESS, BPM FinanceOutlook, GoogleProvident fund online sites (e.g., Sanlam)Understanding of employee tax regulationPeople management experienceStrong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem analysis and solving skillsDuties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Process salaries for all employees on time and accuratelyEnsure accuracy of payroll data (Overtime, commission, incentives, salaries, medical aid, pension, etc.)Support and guide managers on completing new engagement documentsEnsure timely and accurate submission of medical aid application forms (Discovery) for new staffComplete termination documentation accurately and on timeProcess Pension and Provident Fund withdrawal documentsHandle death claims, funeral claims, temporary and permanent disability claims with the Provident FundDistribute payslips securely and confidentiallyEnsure line managers action leave requests in ESSPerform payroll checks prior to salary payments (variance, duplicate ID/bank accounts, unpaid leave, headcount checks per branch, overtime, walk-ins, commission, shift allowance)Process bank files for payrollExecute 3rd-party payments post-payrollPrepare monthly reports: Finance, Equity, DirectorConduct monthly finance reconciliationsPerform GL setup on the payroll system and manage monthly GL export/importCalculate monthly bonus and leave provisionsManage RMA injury on duty processes (online submissions, leave processing on payroll system)Maintain personal records per company and legal standardsUphold confidentiality in all payroll matters in the best interest of the companyPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsEnsure effective and efficient internal controls and payroll systemsEnsure compliance with Payroll PPP and relevant regulationsInvestigate and resolve payroll queriesLiaise with line management and Human Resources on payroll mattersProvide necessary information to authorized personnelGenerate standard payroll-related letters and noticesLiaise with Department of Labour and Workmens Compensation when required
