In support of their continued growth; we are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team and contribute to their success.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll, ensuring compliance with South African labor laws, and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Collect and verify employee time and attendance data.
  • Calculate and process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure proper deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
  • Review and validate payroll reports before distribution.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Stay up-to-date with South African labor laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related tax and compliance reports as required.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Record Maintenance:
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
  • Update and maintain employee data in the payroll system.
  • Process new hire, termination, and other payroll-related changes.
Employee Inquiries:
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
Benefits Administration:
  • Administer employee benefits, including pension plans, medical aid, and other related programs.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
Year-End Activities:
  • Prepare and distribute annual tax documents (e.g., IRP5s).
  • Assist in year-end payroll reconciliations.
Payroll System Management:
  • Ensure the payroll system is up to date and functioning correctly.
  • Collaborate with IT or vendors to resolve any system issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ Years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
