Job Description

Overview:
Our client, a boutique investment advisory and wealth management firm, is seeking a Paraplanner to join them at their Somerset West branch. With over R30 billion in assets under advice, the firm delivers global best-of-breed investment advice to institutional and corporate investors, as well as financial planning and wealth management solutions to personal and family office clients.
With branches in Somerset West, Stellenbosch and Johannesburg, they serve clients across the Western Cape and Gauteng. The core advisory team has worked together for more than a decade, bringing deep expertise and long-standing stability to the firm, with an average of 13 years of investment experience per team member.
Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of proposals for new clients
  • Assisting with analysis to support recommendations by the Head of Wealth
  • Preparation of financial plans and needs analyses according to internal processes
  • Assisting with estate planning and risk quotes
  • Preparation of client advice records and replacement disclosures
  • Preparation of annual client reviews and implementation of post-review action items
  • Recording client meeting minutes and tracking deliverables
  • Managing timelines for deliverables to ensure timely execution
  • Managing and executing various client projects
  • Keeping clients updated on events and transactions
  • Drafting and sending correspondence to clients and external providers
  • Resolving ad hoc client queries
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough record keeping
Requirements:
  • Matric
  • Regulatory Exam 5 (RE5)
  • BCom or equivalent qualification/degree
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification preferable
  • Minimum of 5 years' Paraplanner experience, with specific case preparation exposure, including Record of Advice, Financial Needs Analysis, and industry compliance
  • Strong knowledge of financial services products and high-level financial industry and tax technical knowledge
  • Solid understanding of the financial planning process
  • Own transport required
