-We have an exciting opportunity for Operations Panel Beater . The purpose of this role is to Conduct panel beating and repairs on all vehicles and equipment as needed to maintain and restore their functionality, enabling the team to perform their duties effectively.

Kumba Iron Ore



We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel, widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape





-As our Panel Beater your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


Safety, Health, and Environment


Adhere to all health and safety practices and requirements. Promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment. "Exemplify" all relevant safety standards and procedures as a positive example for learners to follow. Active participation in SLAMs, HOHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
Performance and Delivery


Vehicle Restoration and Repairs:


Plan all repair work to ensure the shortest possible downtime, identify overall damage before the order and purchase of repair material, such as paint, and conduct all repairs within the quotation and time frame specified to ensure time and cost effectiveness. Ensure all restored and repaired vehicles are fully functional upon completion and match the model specification, conduct all work on the principle of right first time, to ensure section operations resume fully with no further disturbances.
Assistance and Practices:


Provide timely, proactive maintenance advice aligned with best practices to prevent issues and improve overall competence. Communicate with the appropriate personnel to organise the necessary resources, including equipment and personnel assistance, to ensure the successful completion of a task. Support the Supervisor and co-workers by following company policies and utilising their expertise when instructed or in the absence of the person responsible to help achieve functional objectives.
People Development:


Identify and utilise on-the-job learning opportunities to achieve the required competency levels. Attend all new relevant training and skills provided for the job.

This role is in the Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) department on a band 9 (J4) level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.





Qualifications

-Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical Occupational Red Seal Certificate as a Panel Beater Medium Volt (MV) Certificate SA Drivers Licence

Technical Knowledge



2 years of operational experience as a Panel Beater performing panel beating methodologies and processes. Experienced in applying paints and spray-painting techniques. Experienced in the upholstery of vehicles. Understand the company's policies and procedures related to the role. Knowledge of safety standards. Knowledge of various tools and equipment. Knowledgeable about vehicle components and spares. Experienced in welding.
