Packhouse Manager

Job Description
Mooinooi Area - North West: The Packhouse manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the packhouse, ensuring high standards in production, quality control and packaging of strawberries.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Production or Agriculture (advantageous)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a packhouse / production / operations role (strawberries).
- Proven experience managing teams
- Strong understanding of food safety, cold chain management, and HACCP principles
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Computer literate (Excel and Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
- Attention to detail
- Must have strong leadership and people development ability
- Hands-on and proactive management style
- Commitment to quality
- Results-driven, adaptable and calm under pressure
- Oversee the daily operations of the packhouse, ensuring targets are achieved
- Manage and motivate employees across the packing, quality control, and dispatch functions
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
- Manage production schedules and coordinate workflow to optimise efficiency
- Manage inventory levels and reduce waste while maintaining product freshness
- Implement and maintain systems for tracking output, labour, and performance metrics
- Work closely with logistics, procurement, and production teams to ensure on-time delivery
- Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement in productivity and processes.
