Packhouse Manager (avocados)
Job Description
Job Requirements:
Matric (Tertiary qualification in Agriculture / Operations / Packhouse Management will be advantageous).
Minimum 5-8 years experience in a fruit packhouse, with proven avocado packhouse management experience.
Strong knowledge of avocado grading, packing, ripening and cold chain management.
Experience with export standards and quality control.
Sound knowledge of HACCP, GlobalG.A.P., BRC and food safety systems.
Proven people management and leadership skills (managing large packhouse teams).
Strong planning, production scheduling and workflow optimization skills.
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
Budgeting, cost control and basic financial management skills.
Ability to analyze data, monitor KPIs and compile reports.
Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and quality standards.
Deadline driven and able to work under pressure during peak season.
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
