Job Description

We are looking for a Packaging & Dispatch Operator with at least 2 years' experience in a packaging and dispatch environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of quality control and experience in handling and organizing finished goods for distribution.

The role requires someone who can work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. As this is a production-based position, the candidate must be physically fit, hands-on, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Packaging

Collect toilet rolls from the production line. Cut toilet rolls to correct size Pack products according to company specifications (e.g., plastic wrapping, boxed packaging). Operate sealing, wrapping, or strapping machines. Ensure correct labeling of packaged goods (batch numbers, barcodes). Conduct visual quality inspections to identify defects before packaging. Keep packaging materials (cartons, plastic wraps, labels) well-stocked and organized. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.

Dispatching & Logistics

Stack packaged toilet rolls into cartons or pallets for transportation. Weigh and record packed goods for inventory tracking. Ensure proper storage of finished goods in the warehouse before dispatch. Assist in loading trucks for deliveries, ensuring safe handling. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely dispatch of products. Keep accurate records of dispatched goods (quantities, destinations, courier details).

Quality Control & Compliance

Follow hygiene and safety protocols when handling packaging materials. Check for damaged or incorrect packaging and report defects. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications. Maintain a clean and organized packaging and dispatch area.

Inventory & Reporting

Track packaging material stock levels and request replenishments as needed. Maintain accurate logs of packed and dispatched goods. Assist in monthly stock counts and audits. Report any discrepancies or delays in packaging or dispatch operations.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) Previous experience in a production environment in packaging or dispatch Basic computer literacy Reliable and honest Must be punctual Ability to maintain confidentiality Able to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment
