Our client in the Energy/Construction industry is currently looking for an Overhead Line (OHL) Construction Manager, in Edenvale, Johannesburg.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The OHL Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing overhead line construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Planning construction projects, scheduling deliverables, estimating costs, and coordinating resources. Directing and supervising construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring daily targets and quality standards are met. Managing all onsite and offsite construction activities, including foundations, stub settings, tower assembly, hardware installation, stringing, and OPGW configuration. Ensuring all construction work complies with building, safety, and quality regulations. Preparing internal and external reports on project progress and status. Identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential risks to prevent delays or safety incidents. Negotiating agreements, drafting contracts, and obtaining required permits and licences.
Education + Experience
Proven working experience in construction management, preferably in overhead line projects. Strong knowledge of construction management processes, building products, and quality standards. Experience with construction management software. Ability to plan, organise, and see the ?big picture? on complex projects. Leadership and human resources management skills. Competent in conflict and crisis management. Excellent time and project management skills. Area of residence ? Johannesburg or surrounding areas. Matric or equivalent. Legal and valid driver?s license. South African Citizen. Well-spoken/good English and Afrikaans is an advantage. No criminal record or charges. Clear credit history. No disciplinary records.
