Outbound Sales Development Representative

Job Description



As an Outbound Sales Development Representative at Sage, you will be responsible for identifying and obtaining new businesses that could be our future customers, focused on Sage Intacct and Sage 300.




This role serves as the first point of contact in the sales cycle, ensuring a strong pipeline for the sales team. A key part of your daily responsibilities will involve proactive prospecting and developing detailed profiles of target-market personas, primarily at the C-suite level."




By excelling in this role you will ensure that as part of a larger team, our sales colleagues have a healthy sales pipeline, thus contributing directly to growing our revenue as a business.




This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three days per week on-site at our Johannesburg office.


Key Responsibilities

- Generate business through proactive outreach to new customers by achieving daily activity targets


- Research, qualify, manage and track leads as well as related sales activities in Salesforce - using frameworks such as BANT or SPIN


- Identify customer needs and requirements, buyer identification knowledge


- Achieve the required number of qualified leads and meet targeted conversion rates from lead to opportunity

Your first 90 days at Sage will allow you to learn the business while also getting up to speed with your roles and responsibilities. You will collaborate with your manager and team to complete the Sage onboarding program. You need to be focused and be able to motivate yourself. Taking positive actions, being open to giving and receiving feedback and guidance is also very important.

- Bachelor's Degree


- 2 years of outbound B2B sales experience


- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.


- Self-Starter with ability to put together a sales plan, follow through on the plan and assess how to improve


- Experience in prospecting and creating quality opportunities, using different platforms.


- Superior organisational skills


- Strong research and analytical abilities.


- Resilience and ability to handle objections.
