Responsibilities: Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
Test operation of machines periodically
Fix or escalate issues that might occur during the shift
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
On the job inspection.
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Maintain activity logs or clock in System
Maintaining the factory machinery
Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of machines
Gaining a thorough knowledge of a wide range of factory machinery and how it works, Cutting, Grinding, drilling, terminals, line grinder, tamping, riveting, etc
Storage and usage of hand tools
Adhere to store policies for raw materials and finished goods.
Always working safe and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping (5S). Reporting near-misses, unsafe acts, and conditions
Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent
3-5 Years experience in manufacturing industry
Must be able to do basic maths (adding and subtraction)
Must be able to speak and understand English
Must be able to identify and use basic hand tools (hacksaw, screwdriver, spanners etc.)
Must be able to identify and use basic power tools (grinder, hand drill, pneumatic tools etc.)
Proven experience as a machine operator
He/she must be able to understand and interpret drawings.
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (calliper, micrometre, verniers etc.)
Understanding of production procedures
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Attention to detail
Positive attitude, Teamwork, Punctuality, Integrity, Respect, Professional reputation maintained as ambassador for company.
Physical stamina and strength
Able to follow instructions and production schedules
Able to act quickly when a problem arises
