Purpose of Role: Responsible for inspecting, repairing and replacing furnace and ladle linings, ensuring equipment availability inline with production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspection: Inspect the lining of furnaces and ladles according to the required schedule, ensuring they are safe to use prior to production startup.
Repair: Make necessary repairs inline with best practice to prolong the service life of the lining of the unit.
Replacement: Breakout and install new linings as required. Perform sinter melt operation in accordance with best practice and Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
5 years experience in relining induction furnaces, bottom pour and tea-pot ladle systems.
Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid forklift license (Advantageous). Overhead crane license (Advantageous).
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
