Operations Supervisor (Food Manufacturing)

Hands-on | Responsibility-Based Role

Location: Airport Industria, Cape Town

Salary: R11 000 per month (based on experience)

Type: Full-time, in-person

We are a growing food manufacturing business (manufacturing ice-cream) looking for a strong Operations Coordinator to support and be part of the operations team and stabilising day-to-day operations.

This role sits between the floor and management. You will work alongside existing operations staff while helping bring structure, consistency, and accountability to how work gets done.

This is a hands-on role with increasing responsibility for the right person.

What you'll be responsible for:

Carrying out and/or Coordinating daily operational tasks (dispatch, receiving, stock movement, housekeeping, stock take, operational assistance, etc.) Fleet supervising Ensuring work is completed correctly and on time Working closely with operations staff to keep workflow smooth Filling in gaps where required and able to Monitoring stock accuracy and flagging issues early (as well as taking accountability and responsibility) Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and order in operational areas Handling day-to-day operational problems as they arise within company procedures Helping implement and follow basic systems, checklists, and SOPs Communicating clearly with management regarding operational issues
What we're looking for

Experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, and/or food manufacturing Someone reliable, organised, and confident on the floor Able to take initiative and responsibility without being micromanaged Comfortable working with and guiding other staff where required Able to follow instructions/orders given without deviating Calm under pressure and solution-oriented Willing to be hands-on when needed (not a desk role) Able to follow procedures and rules

Education:

warehousing, dispatch, receiving, or logistics operations: 3 years (Preferred) stock control, inventory counts, or stock reconciliation: 3 years (Preferred) supervising other staff (formal or informal): 2 years (Preferred) working in food manufacturing or FMCG environ.: 2 years (Preferred)
