Job Title: Operations Manager - Structural Fabrication Engineering
Location: Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: Up to R50,000 CTC per month

About the Client:
Our client is a well-established company operating in the structural fabrication engineering sector, based in Richards Bay. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and drive operational excellence across their projects and teams.
Minimum Requirements:
Trade-Tested OR Mechanical Engineering qualification with strong boilermaking experience (non-negotiable)
Proven experience in structural fabrication and related engineering environments
Minimum of 5 years in an operations or supervisory management role
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to develop, implement, and monitor operational strategies and plans
Experience in quoting, reviewing, and cost estimation
Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations across fabrication and workshop teams
Manage and lead skilled personnel, ensuring high productivity and safety compliance
Develop and implement operational plans aligned with business goals
Drive efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all operations
Handle quoting and tendering processes; review and approve cost estimates
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery
Ensure adherence to engineering standards and customer specifications
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Strong boilermaking and mechanical fabrication background
Practical understanding of heavy engineering workflows and challenges
Hands-on and proactive leadership approach
Ability to handle pressure and make quick, informed decisions
