A leading mobility solutions provider is seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Operations Manager to lead and scale its ride-hailing operations in Cape Town. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, team leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering sustainable, safe, and efficient transportation solutions. Working hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a diverse local operations team, including drivers and support staff, ensuring effective daily operations and driver lifecycle management.

• Develop and implement strategies to grow the driver supply base, improve retention, and enhance service delivery through performance tracking and continuous improvement.

• Drive community engagement initiatives focused on building trust, improving safety education, and fostering open communication between drivers and the business.

• Analyse operational and safety data to make informed decisions, identify trends and risks, and develop action plans to optimise efficiency and platform safety.

• Oversee local process optimisation--including dispatch, driver onboarding, charging logistics, and general operations--while ensuring alignment with company standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional head office teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Vehicle Charging, Finance, Legal) to execute strategic projects and roll out new initiatives.

• Identify and secure business development opportunities, including partnerships with fleet providers; manage contract negotiations and support market expansion efforts.

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in operations, trust and safety, or risk management in a high-growth, data-driven environment.

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing complex and diverse teams.

• Strong collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages advantageous.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; comfortable interpreting and acting on data insights.

• Demonstrates initiative, resilience, and a solution-oriented mindset under pressure.

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Previous experience in mobility, logistics, or technology-led environments is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with launching new products or overseeing market entry strategies will be a strong asset.
