About the Role
We are looking for an
Operations Associate
to work closely with the founder and help build and operate Rent2Rent in the Greater Durban area.
This is an
operator role
, not a sales role.
The role is approximately:
50% field-based
: property viewings, inspections, condition assessments, dealing with maintenance issues
50% desk-based / remote
: coordination, documentation, analysis, reporting, and follow-ups
The role will be
tailored to the right candidate
, whether junior or more experienced.
Initially, decisions are made with close guidance and approval. We intentionally move
slowly and carefully
, prioritising sound judgment over speed.
Flexible working hours and partial remote work are supported, provided outcomes are met.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct property viewings and inspections
Assess property condition and identify maintenance or repair issues
Liaise with landlords, tenants, estate agents, and contractors professionally
Support ongoing property maintenance and repair coordination
Assist with tenant vetting and placement processes
Maintain clear, accurate records using Google Workspace and Excel
Assist with operational reporting and risk assessment
Engage with Rent2Rent's website and social media content
Demonstrate a practical understanding of how the Rent-to-Rent / guaranteed-rent model works
Property & Maintenance Knowledge
Applicants
must
have working knowledge of:
General property maintenance and repairs
Common residential issues (plumbing, electrical, wear-and-tear, preventative maintenance)
Identifying problems early before they become costly disputes
Communicating effectively with contractors and tradespeople
You do not need to be a tradesperson, but you
must understand properties in real, practical terms

Own, reliable
vehicle

Matric / Matric exemption
(Mathematics and English passed)
Strong written and spoken

Sober habits
