An opportunity has become available for a high caliber Operational Supervisor (Contract Supervisor) for the load and haul operation at the quarry in Port Shepstone. The position requires experience in the open cast mining environment. To ensure optimum productivity and extraction by optimizing tactical mining methods, procedures and equipment and people management. Responsible for execution of the load and haul operations to meet safety, quality, volume and targets.. Minimum Requirements

• Matric xe2x80xa2 Code EC driverxe2x80x99s license xe2x80xa2 Minimum 2 years opencast experience in a supervisory capacity xe2x80xa2 Load & Haul experience required xe2x80xa2 Valid xe2x80x9cexamine and make safexe2x80x9d certification/ Competent A xe2x80xa2 Computer literate (able to create spreadsheets, etc) xe2x80xa2 Good interpersonal skills (Customer & management) xe2x80xa2 Problem solving abilities xe2x80xa2 Must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel packages. xe2x80xa2 Interpersonal Skills with special emphasis on telecommunications skill. xe2x80xa2 Excellent customer service skills xe2x80xa2 Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team xe2x80xa2 Display knowledge mining / earth moving equipment xe2x80xa2 Display knowledge of fuel management xe2x80xa2 Sound knowledge of policies and procedures in mining operations xe2x80xa2 Sound knowledge of the MHSA xe2x80xa2 Open enthusiastic team player xe2x80xa2 Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written xe2x80xa2 Must be able to work without supervision and be part of a team. xe2x80xa2 Drives personal and team accountability xe2x80xa2 Instils a culture of disciplined execution. xe2x80xa2 Thorough understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment principles and ability to implement effective controls to manage risks within the section. xe2x80xa2 Sound knowledge of mining disciplines xe2x80xa2 Willing to work extended hours and shifts xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of NBCRFLI Main Agreement

• Responsible for health and safety of employees on shift xe2x80xa2Cost control. xe2x80xa2 Utilisation and efficiency of equipment xe2x80xa2Optimize loading and hauling operation xe2x80xa2Quality monitoring xe2x80xa2Contributes to continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives for load and haul process xe2x80xa2Identifies barriers to effective production performance. xe2x80xa2Recommends and implements solutions. xe2x80xa2Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and the important role of consistently demonstrating required behaviours and championing safety values xe2x80xa2Understands the processes, working culture and challenges associated with the business. xe2x80xa2Establishes and maintains strong relationships with relevant stakeholders. xe2x80xa2 Ensuring fleet is maintained & in the required condition to operate/function optimally xe2x80xa2 Ensuring operations administration is processed accurately and timeously xe2x80xa2 Supervising day to day activities xe2x80xa2 Liaise with workshop for vehicle defects and maintenance
