Are you a hands-on finance professional who thrives where numbers meet operations? A leading manufacturing group based in JHB East is looking for an Operational Accountant with at least one year of post-SAICA articles experience to join their high-performing finance team. This role blends technical accounting with operational involvement, making it perfect for someone who wants to move beyond the ledger and add real business value. As the Operational Accountant, you'll partner closely with production and supply chain teams to provide real-time financial insights, improve cost controls, and ensure accurate reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a business-critical role where your work directly influences profitability and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Management Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely management accounts with operational commentary.
• Costing & Variance Analysis: Monitor manufacturing costs, analyse variances, and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Operational Finance Support: Partner with production teams to track budgets and optimise cost structures.
• Month-End Close: Post journals, reconcile accounts, and ensure smooth month-end processes.
• Compliance & Controls: Maintain adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process Improvement: Drive enhancements in reporting, costing systems, and financial workflows.

Qualifications & skills:

• BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Completed SAICA Articles + Minimum 1 Year Post-Articles Experience
• Manufacturing industry - Strong preference
• Solid understanding of costing principles and operational finance
• Advanced Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
