Job Description
Our company is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive support to individuals and families affected by cancer. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Registered Oncology Counselor to join our team, offering specialized emotional and psychological support to patients and their loved ones throughout their cancer journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one, group, and family counseling to cancer patients and their support networks. Develop personalized coping strategies to help clients manage emotional, mental, and psychological challenges related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Conduct assessments and maintain accurate, confidential records of counseling sessions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care. Facilitate workshops and support groups as needed. Stay up-to-date with the latest oncology counseling practices and maintain continuing education.
Requirements
Masters' degree in social work from an accredited college or University
6 240 hours of paid post-degree experience in an oncology, palliative care or end-of-life care in five years.
50% of your work devoted to Oncology social work if you are full time
100% of your work devoted to oncology if you are part time
- Must be able to understand and speak Afrikaans
