In this role you will be responsible for: To maintain visible presence within the working environment to check unsafe conditions and correct unsafe behaviour within the plant. Identify any threat or potential threat to the safety or health of persons employed Ensure all reasonable safety and health measures have been taken in respect of the use or handling of machinery and the performance of other work Ensure safety equipment is maintained in good condition and properly utilised. To stop and correct unsafe behaviour and conditions through counselling and coaching Conduct daily inspections as per requirement and give feedback Participate in incident investigations with the relevant departments. Plan, schedule, conduct, evaluate and suggest remedial actions based on findings Ensure and enforce adherence to the OHSAct and other legal requirements Drafting of quality reports and reaching target dates
About you: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification SAMTRAC Certificate Previous experience as a safety officer Good administration, communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate for the role At least 2 Yearsxe2x80x99 HSEQ experience in a smelter or manufacturing industry with specific reference to safety inspections HSECQ system knowledge and detail understanding or knowledge of the OHSAct Must be medically fit to work in a Smelter environment
