Duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide support to researchers and administrators on RIMS (Research Information Management System).
  • Coordinate and Manage training for researchers and administrators regarding the electronic processes of RIMS.
  • Support researchers and students on RIMS with applications within the various system modules (Ethics/Compliance and Creative Outputs).
  • Manage the administration of Creative Outputs in research on RIMS.
  • Liaise with external reviewers and DHET for creative outputs.
  • Provide timeous feedback for Creative Outputs outcomes to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage the gatekeeper's approval process for external researchers.
  • Provide timeous quality checks (admin check) of researcher applications on RIMS.
  • Handle general enquiries with regard to RIMS applications and processes.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the research system, including capturing data and retrieval of information from RIMS.
  • Assist the RIMS team with system testing and troubleshooting.
Inherent requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an advanced diploma/BTech degree/postgraduate certificate on NQF Level 7.
  • A Minimum of one (1) year of relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities
Recommendations:
  • Applicable post-graduate qualifications, preferably a master's degree on NQF level 9.
  • Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of research ethics and research outputs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • At least 2 years' experience working in an electronic research system environment.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic systems functioning and the development of systems.
  • Knowledge of Research Information Management System (RIMS).
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and language skills.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R 408,148.51 - R 513,407.84 per annum depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
