Job Summary We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist_L and D who has a talent for delivering high-quality care. A full-time position is available now. Essential Functions: Review all applications of persons with disabilities according to the stipulated criteria and conduct additional screening of applicants with disabilities when necessary. Conduct and record functional assessments on applicants that successfully pass the proficiency assessment. Ensure that a disability pack is compiled for each learner, scanned and saved and a hard copy handed over to the relevant department for delivery or delivering documents for learners hosted at client sites. Managing specific projects as assigned and assisting with updating material as required. Liaise with the Facilities coordinator if a learner with a physically disability needs specific accommodations to be made to make the premises accessible. Conduct accessibility audits at client and host sites as requested and providing feedback on recommendations. Providing continuous support to learner with disabilities, facilitators who need to accommodate the learners and families of learners. Deliver disability sensitisation training as needed. Update and deliver disability talks as required. Identify and establish partnerships with organisations that could improve the support offered to learners e.g. Social workers, counseling services etc. Perform assessments on relapsing learners as required, provide feedback and refer as necessary. Provide guidance to the Recruitment department in identifying sources for the recruitment of persons with disability. Qualification Required: BSc. Occupational Therapy Degree Qualifications Preferred: 4-year B. Occupational Therapy Professional Current Registration with HPCSA Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years Occupational Therapy experience An understanding of medical conditions and the impact thereof on a person Knowledge and experience on how to conduct a functional capacity evaluation An understanding of relevant legislation e.g. Mental Health Care Act, Employment Equity Act and Amendments, Technical Assistance Guidelines on the Employment of Persons with Disabilities, Code of Good Practice, Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levies Act Microsoft office experience minimum 2 years Competencies Required: Excellent written and verbal communication High degree of self-management, enthusiasm, and energy Ability to work under pressure Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Ability to deal with difficult customers Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and influencing skills Demonstrate a good level of negotiation skills with internal and external customers Location: Gqeberha Travel: To and from the office
