Our client is searching for a highly qualified Occupational Therapist / Psychologist (Clinical or Counseling) / Social Worker to join their team at their highly specialized addiction center dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders and mental health issues for international patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting individual and group therapy sessions for patients struggling with addiction, as well as providing assessments and diagnoses for mental health and substance use disorders. Will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in treatment planning to ensure the best possible care for our patients. The candidate must be willing to fit into the learning culture and be willing to share new ideas or techniques. The center is all about patient centered care and the candidate must have a passion for helping people and thinking out of the box. Must be able to work well within the current team of nurses and specialists as well as be able to work independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for patients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Provide assessments and diagnoses for mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Participate in case conferences and staff meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in addiction treatment and mental health care.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification as Occupational Therapist / Psychologist (Bpsych, Hons, Masters) with valid HPCSA registration or relevant qualification as Social worker with valid SACSSP registration
  • Previous experience in private sector and hospital setting
  • Experience with in-patient settings
  • Experience working with patients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders (substance abuse and eating disorders a must).
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high command of English first language.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities and mental health interventions.
  • Commitment to ethical and professional standards.
  • Advantageous: EMDR qualified, trained and experienced
