Nursing Services Manager Frail Care
Job Description
The Nursing Manager, a registered Nurse, takes control of the entire healthcare facility. The Nursing Manager implements and oversees all clinical and nursing processes and care of the healthcare facility with the assistance of duty sisters who manage the shifts. Further to that, the Nursing Manager liaises with the MDT, medical professionals, and families of residents. The Nursing Manager also plays a pivotal role in the marketing of the facility to ensure full occupancy at all times.
Their overall job is making sure every aspect of running a home is done not only professionally but in keeping with health and safety regulations and that patients are comfortable and well taken care of.
Education and qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification to lead, registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC
Experience
At least 5-10 years of experience in nursing, experience in geriatrics advantageous, experience in a similar leadership position highly advantageous, recent hospital experience
Skills and Knowledge
Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, managerial skills, making sound decisions, computer literate, fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, Informed knowledge on Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, frail care, palliative care, strokes.
