Requirements
BSc (Hons) or BEng in Electrical Engineering.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (PrEng).
Minimum of 10 years post graduate technical and
managerial experience with extensive exposure to electrical
distribution infrastructure, with particular emphasis and
knowledge relating to operations and maintenance
management.
Network and Equipment commissioning and maintenance.
Knowledge of Maintenance Policies and Standards.
Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
Excellent technical and personnel management skills.
Proficiency in compiling and managing capital budgets.
Sound project management skills.
Sound knowledge of safety legislation and practice.
Financial analysis expertise.
A high degree of computer literacy.
Valid Driver's licence: Code B.
Key Performance Areas
Conduct research and apply national/international standards
for distribution network maintenance, ensuring compliance
with safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including
consultants and service providers, to discuss
maintenance strategies, research results, and industry
best practices.
Represent the City in national working groups to influence
the development of technical standards and maintenance
strategies, ensuring the City's needs are considered.
Manage the preparation, issuance, and evaluation of
maintenance and service tenders, ensuring compliance
with specifications, standards, and contract terms.
Oversee and coordinate staff training on maintenance
strategies, equipment installation, and operational knowledge,
in collaboration with the Electricity Training Centre.
Develop, manage, and implement comprehensive maintenance
plans for the distribution network, utilizing Reliability-Centred
Maintenance principles and coordinating with stakeholders.
