Job Description

PURPOSE





To provide comprehensive planning and design support to the operations and maintenance departments by conducting site surveys; producing and maintaining technical drawings, maps, and documentation using computer aided design (CAD) systems as well as managing network data and premise information across relevant systems. This includes wayleave coordination, plan updates, fibre allocation management and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of network records throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:




FINANCIAL




Ensuring less than 3% of wastage on network layout. Effective resource management (time, tangible or material) to reduce cost/ financial impact in delivering output in the role.



CUSTOMER





Planning




Create, update, and maintain premise information on AEX within

24 hours

in line with SLAs, ensuring all changes are timeously communicated to ISPs and sales teams. Proactively manage and execute planning-related administrative activities while providing responsive planning support to internal stakeholders as required. Liaise effectively with internal departments to ensure alignment, clarity, and continuity of service delivery. Identify and escalate any irresolvable issues encountered during site surveys, case attendance and day-to-day activities promptly and efficiently to ensure minimal impact on customer timelines and expectations. Communicate wayleave overlay outcomes within

48 hours

, clearly confirming whether Zoom Fibre infrastructure is affected or unaffected.

Premises creation and planning




Maintain effective, clear, and professional communication with ISPs and Sales teams during and after any premise-related changes. Provide timely feedback, guidance, and support to operations and maintenance teams to ensure customer issues are addressed efficiently. Consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work within agreed turnaround times. Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing priorities, customer needs, and operational requirements. Provide accurate, timely, and well-articulated information in both written and verbal communication to support informed decision-making and positive customer experiences.



BUSINESS PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS




Planning




Prepare desktop plans using appropriate tools such as Google Earth and computer aided design (CAD) software and submit these for approval and implementation as required. Conduct comprehensive site surveys for each project, ensuring sites are physically walked, measurements are accurate, and proposed routes are feasible. Develop, update, and maintain all planning and working documents using CAD systems. Compile, verify, and monitor As-Builtdata to ensure actual implementation aligns with approved plans, escalating any material discrepancies that cannot be resolved. Ensure all premise information, network changes, and As-Builtdocumentation are accurately updated across all systems and repositories within 48 hours of receipt. Maintain OneDrive repositories by ensuring all As-Builtdrawings, premise updates, and related documentation are current and correctly filed within 48 hours. Provide daily reporting on premise and network changes per area to the Head of Maintenance. Produce wayleave overlay plans within 48 hours, clearly indicating whether Zoom Fibre infrastructure is affected or unaffected.

Premises creation and planning




Ensure accurate creation and updating of premise data on AEX within

24 hours

of confirmation. Maintain data integrity by ensuring premise and network changes are consistently reflected across AEX, As-Builtdocumentation, and all relevant systems. Minimize inconsistencies, errors, and omissions across all planning and As-Built*
Accurately update all network changes received from the Maintenance team into As-Builtdocumentation within

48 hours

. Ensure accurate wayleave overlays of the network and provide timeous, precise feedback to wayleave applicants. Maintain accuracy and completeness of wayleave-related documentation. Compile and provide daily, weekly and monthly system ticket performance reports to relevant stakeholders, including feedback on planning related impacts. Proactively escalate any challenges or risks encountered during premise creation, planning, or documentation that may impact timelines, quality, or network integrity. Identify efficiencies in the role and incorporate way to do things better by applying previous learnings, feedback and new innovations to streamline output.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE




National senior certificate is essential. Degree/national diploma in Civil Engineering/planning is essential. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in planning is required. A driver's license is required. Knowledge in customer service, AutoCAD/planning related software's and Microsoft office is essential.
