The National Projects Planner will assist in coordinating and planning production activities to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products. They will work closely with various teams, including production, procurement, and logistics, to maintain optimal workflow, minimize delays, and meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design:
Review Sketches and advise Sales Reps of Kazin Practicality/Capability of Client Custom Unit designs and appropriate modifications required to meet Client needs,
Make Client Drawings of Custom Units for review and Sign off.
Understanding of Drawing Software programs (Current Software SketchUp).
Make Shop Drawings for Custom Units (List all changes to be made to the unit and do additional Detailing as required for production teams to follow.).
Shop Drawings for WO and ST works as required.
Design of LGS Structures for New Structure Build Types (Current Software VertexBD).
Export of required Drawing Files and LGS Machine Production Files
2. Manufacturing Orders (MO's):
Check Units to build of multiple factories and create new MO's for the appropriate factory.
Create new Custom MO's by compiling Bill of Materials (BOM) and Creating appropriate Routing Procedures.
Understand and use Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) Software (Current Software MRPEasy).
Create Custom MO's for ST works as required.
Update existing Standard Unit MO's for all or some factories based on new changes to the Design or Changes in Materials to be used.
Update All Factory Production Folder Standard Unit Materials Lists and Drawing Files if required.
Get Approvals of MRP MO's from COO.
3. Purchase Orders (PO's) Supervisor Role:
Tasks below have mostly been allocated to Planner/Procurement Officer but understanding of these tasks is required so that they can be managed effectively.
Create new PO's as required based on Material requirements of MO's and Minimum Order Quantity Units.
PO's for all Factories, ST and BS locations.
Get approval from COO for all new PO's.
Issue PO's to relevant Suppliers.
Issue EFT Payment to COO for Payment.
Follow up on outstanding PO's from Suppliers.
Receipt in materials Delivered to the Factories, ST & BS.
Update Outstanding PO's List and issue it to Project Managers.
Update & Find alternative Suppliers as required.
Update & find best pricing for Materials.
Get Credit Applications for Suppliers where applicable.
Find New Suppliers for other non-production related materials/rentals/services.
4. Production Planning:
Create Unit Folders for Production for Std and Custom units to be used by Planner/Procurement Officer.
Create WO Folders for ST and place them in the relevant folder the WO is assigned to.
Create new Jobs on the Production Plans for all factories and ST Work Orders (WO).
Schedule/Alter and determine priority of Jobs on the production Plan & Units to Build List.
Supervise the Planner/Procurement Officer.
Update the Production Plans for Factory & ST works.
Update Units to Build list.
Update works on MRP.
Rename Production folder Inspection Files.
Update the Production Folders as per current & next week Production Schedules.
Review Production issues and address the problems to the relevant person.
5. Inventory Management:
Track inventory levels for all Factories, ST Teams and BS.
Adjust MRP (Virtual) Inventory to match Stock Count (Physical).
Send variation Reports to the relevant Project Managers to check discrepancy in inventory levels noted on the Stock Counts.
6. Coordination for Material Delivery to Other Factories
Manage Materials required for delivery from PE Main Hub to the other Factories EL, GRG & BLM.
Select & Book suitable vehicles for material transport.
Ensure effective MRP Material capture.
7. Data Analysis & Reporting
Review the current process and look to implement steps that would help to make it easier and more efficient.
8. Quality Assurance & Health & Safety Support:
Monitor and Support Quality Standard in the Factory and report issues to the Project Manager that are observed.
Support Efforts minimize Waste.
Ensure Compliance to Health & Safety Standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with production planning software (e.g., ERP systems) is a plus.
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field will be an advantage.
1-2 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain (preferred but not mandatory).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory control is advantageous.
