Job title - National Debtors Controller

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team, responsible for overseeing debtors' management, collections, and debt recovery. This role involves handling customer accounts, processing payments, resolving queries, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing Accounts Receivable:

This involves processing and issuing invoices to customers.

Maintaining customer portals.

Recording and allocating customer payments to the appropriate accounts.

Monitoring outstanding debts and following up on overdue accounts.

Ensure the customer remains within their agreed terms.

Preparing and sending out statements of account to customers.

Customer Interaction:

Handling customer queries and disputes regarding invoices and payments.

Phoning and sending emails to ensure customers make payments on time.

Performing credit checks on new and existing customers.

Ensure the correct information is loaded onto various client portals.

Financial Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information.

Reconciling accounts receivable ledgers.

Administrative Tasks:

General administrative duties related to the full debtors' function.

Essential Skills:

A good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.

Organizational Skills:

The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of relevant legislation:

Understanding of debt collecting laws, and how they apply in South Africa.

Qualifications:

Matric (Completed)

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration

Experience and software:

5 years + Proven working experience as a Debtors Controller.

QuickBooks online.

Excel and Word.
