What your role looks like:
Among many facets, a key element of this role within our operations space is to ensure consistency, efficiency and excellence across our administrative and risk processes nationally while having the flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of our stores and support teams in a dynamic, transitional retail environment. From overseeing compliance and reporting to driving continuous improvement in store-level admin functions, the National Admin & Risk Manager plays a critical role in keeping our retail engine running smoothly and aligned across the country
.
Areas of responsibility include but not limited to:
Policies and procedures
+ Develop in store policies and procedures to ensure that risk is minimised in all areas within the store. These include admin, risk, security, stock counts, stock receiving, POS.
+ Drive the application & improvement of current policies and procedures including the implementation of new processes and technologies within Yuppiechef, which is being adopted from the Group. Analysis, reporting and business improvement
+ Monitor and analyse data and reports pertaining to labour efficiencies, audit, and sustainability in order to identify risk and opportunities for improvement in efficiencies to assist the company to achieve its strategic objectives. Leadership and development
+ Design new audit techniques to monitor risk across stores.
+ Consolidate audit reports to identify trends. Where areas of risk are identified, develop and implement corrective action plans which include policy and procedure.
+ Develop and coach store management teams in order to drive engagement, development and effectiveness. Sustainability
+ Develop policy and procedure to support an energy saving plan for all stores and continue to seek opportunities to improve on current realities. Insurance Claims
+ Monitor, follow up and track company insurance claims where possible e.g. Water damages or theft/ breakings Innovation and business process
+ Identify new innovative ways of working with the application of various new approaches and technologies, to improve and streamline processes and to reduce risk.
+ Identify improved business processes to streamline business activities, in consultation with service providers and logistical teams Risk Management:
+ Drive and monitor compliance of the retail stores in your area with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
+ Identify and address exceptions in high-risk areas.
+ Authorize write-offs, breakages, recalls, and returns.
The experience, skills and requirements needed for the role:
Grade 12 with a relevant retail or commercial qualification
8 years in Retail Operations and Multi site environment
5 years experience in Store Management
Proven experience in retail operations and management
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Excel; Analytical Skills; Retail Operations policies and procedures
Retail, brand, customer & product understanding
Valid Driver's Licence
Ability to travel locally
