Job Description
- Study the isolation, identification and selection of yeast and bacteria from Rooibos sites to enhance Rooibos tea properties.
- Study Microbial landscape of Rooibos tea, in collaboration with Department of Microbiology, Stellenbosch University.
- Conduct field and the laboratory research
- Comply with OHS (operational, health and safety) regulations.
- Data capture analyses and interpretations.
- Disseminate technology through peer-reviewed scientific articles.
- BSc Hons (Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Wine Biotechnology), with an average of at least 60%.
- Enroll for an MSc degree at Stellenbosch University.
- Knowledge of environmental microbiology, and yeast and bacteria identification will be an advantage.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Willingness to travel to remote areas for sampling.
- A valid driver's license will be an advantage.
