Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To lead the survey team in providing a totally safe and integrated surveying service in accordance with company standards and the Mine Health and Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Balanced Scorecard Pillars, Roles and Responsibilities:
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
Assist the Supt (Chief Surveyor) to:
- Ensure the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act No. 29 0f 1996)
- Ensure legal compliance in terms of Chapter 17 of the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act No.29 of 1996)
PEOPLE
- Manage direct reports
CUSTOMERS
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
BUSINESS PROCESSES
- Ensure high level of Standards, Integrity and work output are maintained in the department
- Provide specialized Survey service to the business process
- Short term and long-term planning
- Support the overall management of the MRM discipline
- Assist with Capital Project management and feasibility studies
- Underground visits with personnel to conduct planned task observations and safe behaviour observations
- May be appointed in an opencast section

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and
EXPERIENCE : Minimum qualifications:
- Diploma in Mine Survey (Mine Surveying) or C.O.M Advanced Survey and Valuation certificates
- Mine Surveyorxe2x80x99s Certificate Competency (Studying towards)
- 5 yearsxe2x80x99 Experience
- Computer Literacy
- Surveying Software (AutoCAD, Winminop, Model Maker)
