PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To administer and provide design inputs for Mineral Resources drawings, mining and prospecting rights applications.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox.
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.

CUSTOMERS

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction
• Liaise with neighbouring mining operations and customers to increase and improve on current company mineral and property assets.
• Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders (local communities)

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Administration

• Conduct Mineral Resources general financial controls and inputs.
• Conduct Mineral Resources general administration and process Mineral Resources invoices (Coupa input)
• Control drawing updates and version control
• Maintain stationery and office supply stock levels.
• Scan Mineral Resources and Legal reports
• Compile monthly reports.

Technical Drawings

• Provide and maintain two-dimensional CAD drawings for Mineral Resources
• Convert Geological information into a CAD format.
• Develop and update Mineral Rights drawings.
• Measure, plot and interpret area measurements as received from field geologists

Survey Draughting

• Convert survey data and measurements into clear and accurate visual representations, including topographic maps, cross-sections, and 3D models.
• Compile and maintain statutory and non-statutory mine plans (maps) and other graphical products required for a mine or project.
• Maintain the GIS/CAD database for optimal use as well as prepare maps and GIS/CAD documents as required.
• Plot, measure and generate geological and mineral exploration related plans as received from field geologists.
• Report on all deviations from approved plans

Surveying

• Confirm location of exploration drilled boreholes, ensuring precise measurements.
• Conduct field surveys, ensuring precise measurements of boundaries, terrain characteristics, geological formations, and other relevant features.
• Record and document survey data using specialized software and equipment.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to gather insights and assess potential risks and opportunities.
• Maintain quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable survey data.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, surveying technologies, and drafting standards.

• Suitable legal knowledge for Draughting, Mine Design and Schedule work (DME, Survey, Production and DME plan specifications).

• Demonstrate an understanding of surface mining plans.
• Demonstrate an understanding to locate a surface geographical position by employing map-reading techniques.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• National Diploma / Degree in Mineral Resource Management/Survey
