Assist with the daily operations of mobile clinics and the hospital
Maintain acceptable operational, hygiene, and animal welfare standards
Perform daily cleaning of mobiles and participate in weekly deep cleans
Support crowd control at mobile clinics and engage with communities to promote animal welfare services, including sterilisation
Assist animal owners with completing required documentation and means tests
Ensure animals are handled humanely, safely identified, weighed, fed, and housed appropriately
Monitor animals post-treatment or surgery and report abnormalities promptly
Educate communities on basic animal healthcare, husbandry, and disease prevention
Transport animals humanely between communities and the hospital
Report cases of neglect or abuse in line with the Animal Protection Act
Support team members across mobile, kennel, and theatre duties when required
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene protocols
Compassion, empathy, integrity, and professionalism
Ability to recognise emergencies and escalate appropriately
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office & Windows)
Valid South African driver's licence
Minimum Matric certificate
Previous experience as a Kennel Assistant or within a veterinary practice
Ability to speak more than one South African language (advantageous)
Willingness to work overtime, extended hours, and occasional weekends if required
Ability to work in a demanding and potentially high-risk environment
