A great mining company in Kuruman, Northern Cape is seeking the expertise of a Mine Overseer to join their team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks
• Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. Recognise and reward team member efforts
• Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes
• Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles
• Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations
• Diagnose incidents and accidents by completing root cause analyses and take corrective action
• Conduct risk assessments. Stop work in unsafe areas. Ensure safety programs are executed
• Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plan and develop sub-functional plans
• Ensure operational plan is implemented
• Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources
• Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met
• Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts
• Manage, control and improve production and mining operations, including contractor performance

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Mine Overseer Certificate
• Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
• 8 - 10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in an underground trackless mining environment
• Minimum 3 years at Mine Overseer level

Benefits

• Salary: R1.4M/yr - R1.6M/yr, negotiable
